Passenger dies while getting off the bus

Kundapur: An accident took place when a man fell while getting off a bus and died on national highway

66 near Sangam Vidyakendra cross near Kumbhashi in Kundapur taluk in the evening of Monday, May 14th.

The deceased is Govinda (60) who hails from Kumbhashi.

The bus was heading towards Kota from the town. The bus halted near Sangam Vidyakendra cross for passengers to get off. It is said that as Govinda was getting off from the bus from the front door, but the driver moved the bus ahead before the conductor’s signal. Govinda stumbled and fell to the road. He was crushed under the rear wheels of the bus. He suffered serious injuries in the accident, and died on the spot.

A case was registered in the traffic police station at Kundapur.

The bus driver has been taken into custody and investigation is ongoing.
