BJP wins Mudigere and Sullia

Hassan: The BJP has conquered new territory as its candidates in Hassan district are leading. In the 2013 elections, the party could not win a single seat in the district. Preetham Gowda is leading in Hassan while Narve Somashekhar is leading in Sakaleshpur, ahead of the JD(S) candidates who were expected to win.

It has also been declared in a final result that the BJP has won in Mudigere and Sullia. In Sullia, BJP’s Angara defeated B. Raghu from the Congress by 26,000 votes and BJP’s Kumaraswamy defeated Motamma from Congress by 12,512 votes in Mudigere.

Minister for Sericulture A. Manju is trailing in Arakalgud constituency. Arakalgud has JD(S) candidate A.T. Ramaswamy in the lead. JD(S) is leading in Holenarasipur with H.D. Revanna; in Shravanbelagola with C.N. Balakrishna; and in Arasikere with K.M. Shivalinge Gowda.
