Yeddyurappa sure of being in power for five years

Bengaluru: Hours after taking pledge on Thursday, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said he was certain of winning the dominant part and being in control for a long time. 

Yeddyurappa, tending to the media subsequent to taking vow as the Chief Minister said “I am grateful to the people of the state, particularly farmers and poor people, who have upheld me. People are with me and the BJP and I am sure that I will win the majority and be in power for the coming five years,”

Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah for his confirming as the Chief Minister, he denounced the Congress and Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) of attempting to take the people’s mandate by forming an alliance.

“The Congress and JD(S) have shaped an unholy alliance together in spite of individuals picking the BJP. We are certain of winning the majority,” he said. 

There were numerous JD(S) and Congress lawmakers who know the BJP would shape the government and he was certain they will vote in favor of his governement, he said. 

Prior, a three-judge seat of the apex court dismissed a joint writ petition of the Congress and the Janata Dal-Secular to slow down the swearing in of Yeddyurappa at an exceptional hearing at a early hour in the day. 

The best court said the swearing-in of Yeddyurappa was liable to the ultimate result of the issue before it and posted the case for additionally hearing at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. 

As per Governor Vajubhai R. Vala’s order, Yeddyurappa needs to prove a majority within 15 days.
