Dalit Samiti condemns Governor’s decision

Hassan: Members of the Karnataka Yuva Dalit Sangharsha Samiti have opposed Governor Vajubhai Vala’s invitation to the BJP to form the government in the State. They staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hassan on Wednesday, demanding that the Governor be removed from his post.
DSS leader Krishna Das said that by inviting a party which did not have the MLAs required to form the government, the Governor was encouraging the corrupt practice of poaching or wooing MLAs. The protestors also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the current state of affairs in the State, alleging that Modi had always supported such unethical practices to bring MLAs from other parties.
The members of the Samiti opine that the Congress-JD(S) coalition should form the government in order to protect the interests of the State and feel that the Governor’s decision is an insult to the people’s mandate. They submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner P.C. Jaffer.
