Bengaluru: The Supreme Court has asked the BS Yeddyurappa government to take a floor test on Saturday and demonstrate its majority.

A bench of three judges, hearing a joint petition documented by the JD(S) and the Congress challenging Governor Vajubhai Vala’s choice welcoming Yeddyurappa to shape another government in the state regardless of having 104 MLAs – eight shortage of the magic number has offered two other options to Yeddyurappa government. Appropriately Yedyyurappa will either need to show the majority by taking the floor test on Saturday at 4 pm or pick a detailed contentions on governor’s choice in the court.

Counsel for BJP, Attorney General MukuL Rohtagi, had in his contention said that there had been no pre-election alliance between the Congress and the JD(S). The BJP as a solitary biggest party should in this way be allowed to form the government. He likewise delivered the letter exhibited to Governor Vala by Yeddyurappa, which asserts that he has the vital help of MLAs and can demonstrate majoriity on the floor of the House.

However counsel for Congress, Abhishek Manu Singhvi contended that the Court must choose who is qualified for get the primary opportunity to frame the government.
