Bengaluru: Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala, on Friday named BJP’s Virajpet MLA KG Bopaiah as the Pro-tem Speaker. Bopaiah will now direct procedures for the Supreme Court-ordered floor test on Saturday evening.

The standards require senior most pioneer of the get together turn into the speaker and in like manner the Congress said RV Deshpande ought to go ahead to wind up the speaker of the assembly. Be that as it may, this was ignored and Bopaiah was delegated as the pro-tem Speaker.

Prior today, the Supreme Court ordered the state government to have the floor test most recent by tomorrow to test if BS Yeddyurappa appreciates the certainty of the House. Yeddyurappa was given 15 days by the Governor to demonstrate his majority.

The three time MLA, KG Bopaiah, was the speaker of the House in 2011 when a few MLAs had withdrawn their help to BS Yeddyurappa government. In a questionable activity, Bopaiah had precluded the rebel MLAs and encouraged the BJP government to get by in Karnataka. Indeed, even the Cupre Court had scrutinized the Seaker for his rushed move amid the trust vote.

Congress immediately objected the appointment of pro-tem Speaker. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that what the BJP has done was against the rule book as “just the senior most pioneer should hold that position.”

Association Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javdekar tweeted, “KG Bopaiah was appointed as Pro Tem speaker even in 2008 by the then Governor. That time Bopaiah was 10 years younger than what he is today. The Congress is thus raising hoax objection. The appointment of Bopaiah Ji is as per rules and regulations.”
