Yeddyurappa to meet defeated BJP candidates

Bengaluru: BJP State President and former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa told mediapersons on Sunday that he will hold a meeting of the defeated candidates of the party on Wednesday. He said that BJP candidates had lost by narrow margins in the Assembly elections and in order to instil confidence in them and motivate them to work for the party; he would hold a meeting and interact with them for two hours.

On Sunday, Yeddyurappa participated in a party meeting which introspected on the BJP’s inability to come up with the numbers required to form the government. He did not disclose anything about the BJP’s next move regarding the Congress-JD(S) government. He said that the party would decide a course of action after the formation of the Cabinet. Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar said that the Congress was losing its base in Karnataka, because of which it had to support a regional party like the JD(S) to form the government.
