Murudeshwara police informed that 28 cows were being transported in the truck from Gir in Gujarat to a diary in Thrissur in Kerala. The truck had two drivers and two cleaners and had departed from Gir on May 15. At around 8 pm on Sunday, the truck was passing through Murudehswara on the NH-66 where the gang hurled stones at it and assaulted the four persons. The injured truck driver has registered a complaint based on which, the Murudeshwara police have arrested Janardhan, Nagaraj Nayak, Venkatesh, Kumar, Rama, Nagaraj Nayyar, Bhaskar, Mahesh, Venkatesh, Manjunath, Annappa, Shabhareesh and Girish. The accused have been booked for dacoity and assault. Out of the 28 cows stolen, 20 have been recovered. Police are still searching for other people involved in the attack.
