Udupi: Demanding a CBI probe into the alleged corruption involved in the handing over of the hospital to a private entity, the Karnataka unit of the Shiva Sena staged a protest in front of the Government Hospital for Women and Children in the town on May 24th.
Madhukar Mudradi, President of the Shiva Sena Karavali Karnataka Unit spoke on the occasion and said the land worth crores of rupees has been entrusted to BR Life Care without ensuring transparency and without inviting any tender. The hospital ought to have been made available for the service of the public since January 1, 2018, but that has not been the case. This is a clear violation of the conditions laid down in the agreement.
If the demand was not fulfilled, the organisation would resort to severe protest across the state, he warned.
A memorandum was forwarded to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner.
