Mangaluru: A bandh cannot be observed under any pretext and a call for the same is illegal as  per High Court and Supreme Court judgements, said City Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar.

“Any appeal for bandh would be subject to legal action. If anyone is asked to participate in bandh, he/she can intimate the local police officers or dial 100,”he informed.

BJP Dakshina Kannada district president and MLA Sanjeev Matandoor has appealed to the citizens to support the bandh as Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had failed to keep up to his promise of waiving off farm loans to the tune of 53,000 crore rupees within 24 hours of coming to power.

MP Shobha Karandlaje spoke with media and said that Kumaraswamy has failed to fulfil the assurance given to farmers. The chief minister should clarify his stand concerning the farmers’ loan and their situation.BJP is supporting the farmers’ protest called in the state.
