Haryana govt officer booked for molestation

Chandigarh: A Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officer posted in the Education Department at Panchkula was booked for allegedly molesting a woman employee, police said today.

On the complaint of the victim, the police yesterday booked Reagan Kumar, administrative officer-cum-secretary and CEO of Utkarsh Society, Secondary Education Department.

The complainant alleged that on May 28 the officer called her to his cabin and offered coffee which she refused, they said. The woman alleged that on Tuesday the officer again called her to his cabin and tried to sexually abuse her, they added.

The officer was booked under Section 354 A (for physical touch) and 354 D (for stalking) of the Indian Penal Code, the police said, adding that the matter was being investigated.
