NHAI officials to be blamed for their negligence: Mayor Bhaskar Moily

Mangaluru: Mayor Bhaskar Moily said that the flood like situation in the city was due to the negligence by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials.
Mayor said, Mangaluru recorded 215 mm of rainfall for four hours on Tuesday resulting in total damage of 34 houses and a loss to the extent of Rs 41,38,000.
Moily blamed NHAI officials for their negligence in their work at Kottara Chowki and Padil which resulted in heavy flooding in these two areas.
Deputy Commissioner has formed a committee led by MUDA commissioner. Survey is under process and report will be submitted soon,” he said.
Deputy mayor Mohammed, chief whip of MCC Shashidhar Hegde, corporators Naveen D’Souza, Praveen Chandra Alva and others were present.
