Road accident kills four, injures eight near Yadgir

Yadagiri: Four people were killed on the spot and eight were harmed when a jeep in which they were travelling slammed into a tanker carrying fly ash near Mundaragi town, around eight kilometers from Yadgir, late night on Thursday.
The deceased were recognized as Jhan Paul (35), Eligebeth (43), Stephen Peter (10), all from Nazarath Colony in Yadgir, and vehicle driver Basavaraj, resident of Kotagera town.
The injured have been rushed to district general hospital and their condition is said to be stable.
As indicated by the complaint enrolled by Yadgir Traffic Police, they were all coming back from Gazarkot to Yadgir after visitng a church when the episode happened. The tanker was being driven in a rash and careless way and the driver fled from the scene after the accident. The police are searching for him.
A case was enrolled in Yadgir Traffic Police Station.
