Twelve child labour cases reported in Shimoga last year

Shivamogga: Deputy commissioner M Lokesh on June 1 informed that the danger of child labor is as yet continuing in Shivamogga. Last year, 12 instances of child labor have come to light here and the proprietors of these establishment have been booked under the law.
Talking at a meeting called for preparations for World Day Against Child Labor, the DC said that the children working in the district should to be found and rehabilitated with the goal that they could be brought into the standard society. They should to be given education, health and other facilities, he added.
According to the Child Labor (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 utilizing children below the age of 14 years in any occupation and using kids under 18 years old in any hazardous occupations is punishable. The DC taught the authorities to entirely uphold the provisions of the law.
He additionally taught the authorities to build endeavors to bring issues to light about the restriction on tyke work.
The World Day Against Child Labor is commended on June 12 every year since 2002. It is celebrated each year to bring issues to light and activism to prevent child labor everywhere throughout the world.
