Valuables worth lakhs stolen from Ellur shrine

Moodbidri: Gold and silver valuables worth several lakhs of rupees were stolen after thieves broke into the famous Ellur Shree Vishweshwara Temple’s Veeranjaneya Sannidhi  on Thursday night.

On Friday morning, when the Temple priest Satyanarayana Acharya arrived to open the temple the theft came to light. The Anjaneya Gudi door was broken and the silver plating of the idol of Anjaneya, the Prabhavali, golden chain and lamps were missing.

Padubidri police and finger print experts have visited the spot.
