Bengaluru: Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly, K R Ramesh Kumar, has vcated his office on the main floor of the complex, as it has now been given to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
In spite of the fact that Siddaramaiah is the chosen leader of the Congress Legislative Party and the chairman of the JD(S)- Congress government coordination council, he has no constitutional post in the fresh state government.
The office was renovated by the past speaker, K B Koliwad, at a cost of Rs 68 lakh. The renovation included transforming the single-room space into a double. Presently Siddaramaiah’s new office, it comes complete with high-end wooden furniture- plush sofas, chairs and an LED TV among other luxuries.
By giving this office implied for the Assembly speaker, to Siddaramaiah, the government has raised numerous eyebrows considering bits of gossip about the former CM being sidelined have been doing the rounds.
