Congress-JD(S) to form sub-committee to draft CMP

Bengaluru: Karnataka’s JD-S-Congress government would soon set up a sub-committee to draft a common minimum program (CMP) from the poll manifesto of the collusion parties, said Coordination Committee director Siddaramaiah on Thursday. 

“The sub-committee, involving three Congress leaders and two Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) pioneers will draft the CMP for implementing throughout the next five years,” Siddaramaiah told the journalist here after leading the committee’s first meeting.

The coordination committee contains Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and Kunwar Danish Ali of the JD-S, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, Congress’ state unit in-control K.C. Venugopal and Siddaramaiah of the Congress. 

Conceding that it would be troublesome for the coalition government to execute each one of the promises made in the manifestos of the both the parties for the assembly elections, Siddaramaiah said the sub-committee would draft the CMP by choosing the promises recorded in both the manifestoes. 

“As the manifestoes of both the parties were made independently and released before the elections, the sub-committee would list the promises that are common and doable for implementation by the coalition government for the next five years,” said the former Chief Minister. 

“The CMP will be executed through budgetary distributions and its points of interest will be spelt out in the state budget Kumaraswamy will exhibit one month from now, as he likewise holds the Finance portfolio,” he told media. 

The coordination meeting likewise talked about the arrangement of heads of state-run sheets and companies, transfer of officials, when to plan the monsoon session of the state assembly and proposition to be incorporated into the financial plan of the new government. 

As concurred by the collusion partners, Congress legislators will head 66% of sheets and companies and the JD-S officials will head the remaining 33%.
