Pistol used to kill Gauri Lankesh is suspected to be hiding in Maharashtra: SIT

Bengaluru: The 7.65 mm country made pistol utilized for murdering journalist Gauri Lankesh is suspected to be in Maharashtra, SIT sources asserted.
Investigation and reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madiwala, had uncovered that the pistol was before used to gun down rationalist M Kalburgi at his residence in Dharwad on August 30, 2015.
“Miscreants have attempted their best to shroud the weapon. According to our test, just Amol Kale and Parashuram Waghmore, two of the six accused captured for the case, know where the pistol is presently hidden. But, they are misdirecting us with contradictory statements. As indicated by our findings, the weapon is in Maharashtra.” the sources stated.
Waghmore from Sindagi town in Maharashtra is associated to be unified with the two men who went to Gauri’s home in RR Nagar and shot her dead on September 5, 2017.
SIT will ‘remake’ the recces directed by the killers. Waghmore will be made to ride pillion on a bike and will be video-graphed. “We’ll give the recording to FSL specialists to check whether it matches with the ones recovered from CCTV cameras close to Gauri’s home. We need to perceive how much the men in the prior recordings match with the pictures of Waghmore,” sources said.
“Since Waghmore is from north Karnataka, we’ve alloted a cop with mastery in communicating in Kannada in north Karnataka accent for the test. Waghmore thinks that its little hard to understand our accent,” sources included.
