Cricket match turns deadly, dacoity accused killed

Bengaluru: A 22-year-old youth was hacked to death by a group of four to five men after a fight about a cricket match on Sunday evening at a play area in JC Nagar in Mahalakshmi Layout police limits.
The expired, Manikanta alias Doddakattu, was an occupant of Sriramanagar in Mahalakshmi Layout. He was jobless and was an accused in a dacoity case in Mahalakshmi Layout police station.
As indicated by the police, around 4 pm, he and his friends had gone to the ground in JC Nagar to play cricket. Amid the match, he fought with one of the players from the opponent group over a minor issue and attacked the player. The victim called his friends and informed them about the episode.
Around 6 pm, four to five men went to the ground and attacked Manikanta with deadly weapons. The group fled the scene and Manikanta died on the spot because of extreme wounds. The Mahalakshmi Layout police came to the spot and got a few people for questioning.
