Four police officials arrested in rowdy murder case

Vijayapura: The mysterious murdering of notorious rowdy from Bheema river belt near Vijayapura, Gangadhar Chadchan has taken another contort with the investigating police team arresting four police officials. Not long after the investigation concerning Chadchan’s death was given over to CID, police sub-investigator Gopal Hallur and senior constables Siddarush Rugi, Chandrashekhar Jadhav and Gaddeppa Naikodi were arrested.
Preceding the arrest of the three cops, another police team headed by IGP of Northern Range, Alok Kumar had taken up an investigation concerning a similar case for two days before giving it over to the CID. Amid the preliminary investigation, Hanamant Pujari and Sidagondappa Tikkundi, primary accused in the Chadchan kill had made a shocking disclosure that Gangadhar Chandchan was given over to them by police officials. The case took another turn after this as the police division chose to hand it over to the CID for investigation, as per police sources.
The CID group headed by DySP Janardhan and Police Inspector M A Mohammad raced to Vijayapura and arrested the four policemen. The arrested police were taken to the spot where Chadchan was supposedly murdered under mysterious circumstances and where he went missing. The captured, Gopal Hallur and the other three accused were taken for a medical test after the arrest and later presented in a local court at Indi town, near Vijayapura. The court remanded Hallur to legal custody until June 28. Gangadhar Chadchan was allegedly associated with several cases. He was the sibling of Dharmaraj Chadchan, one of the notorious rowdy in the Bheema river belt.
