Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy communicated disappointment about the arrangement of 9-member Cauvery Management Authority by the union government regardless of solid resistance from Karnataka.

Addressing media people here on June 22, Kumaraswamy said that Center had made injustice to Karnataka with its one-sided decision. A plea would be submitted to the union government to rethink the decision.

The Chief Minister had met the Prime Minister as of late and clarified the different loopholes in the council. He had likewise asked for the Prime Minister not to announce notice before taking care of those issues. Besides, he had cleared up that the state would not prescribe its members to the committee till it gets an answer.

According to most recent notice, Central Water Commission Chairman S Masood Hussain will lead the Cauvery Management Authority framed by the Central Water Resource Department, while Chief Engineer Naveen Kumar will be the representative of the Center.

K A Joshi of Kerala, V Shanmugasundaram of Pondicherry, R Senthil Kumar of Tamil Nadu, Indian Meteorological Department Scientist Dr. M Mohapatra, Central Water Commission Coimbatore Division Chief Engineer N M Krishnanunni, Union Agriculture Ministry (Raitha Kalyana), Horticulture Commissioner will be other members. National Water Commission’s Chief Engineer A S Goel will be the member secretary.
