Bengaluru: A 28-year-old, Yathish, committed suicide on March 21, unable to bear the harassment by his wife and in-laws. The High Court has ordered that there will be no arrest of the wife, her parents and brother by allowing them bail.

The accused for the situation are C Synthia (Carien Sindya) the wife, A Christoper, Curie (in-laws) and Cyress Clinton, the brother-in-law. They have been charged for abetment of suicide. Synthia and Yathish were married just seven months ago. Professedly, Yathish was abused and harassed by them.

Christopher had filed a complaint against Yathish at the Avalahalli police station. He was called to the station for questioning. Embarrassed by it, Yathish commiited suicide.

The four accused moved toward the High Court for bail fearing their arrest for the situation. The High Court noticed that the finding of the post-mortem examination was predictable with suicidal death. It granted bail “considering the general conditions of the case and the character of proof which is required to be gathered against the applicant, in my view no prejudice would be caused to the prosecution if petitioners are enlarged on bail subject to conditions.”

The four were directed to appear before the investigating officer within 15 days. “The investigating officer should examine the applicants and might amplify them on bail that day,” the HC said. The bail conditions include bonds of Rs 1 lakh each and sureties.
