Mysterious blast at defense public sector unit HAL

Bengaluru: A mysterious blast in an open ground having a place with the defense public sector unit HAL activated frenzy here on Tuesday, July 3.
The blast happened in an empty territory where the works for the foundation of private quarters for HAL employees was in progress. The work was suspended for a couple of months.
The occupants of the LB Shastri Nagar heard an uproarious blast and felt tremors on Tuesday evening. Promptly the HAL authorities raced to the blast spot and found that a piece of the land which was being utilized as a dumping yard had collapsed and a water tank kept close to the dumping site totally destroyed because of the effect of the blast.
DCP (Whitefield) Abdul Ahad addressing media people said that that the blast was activated by a gelatin stick which was accidentally left by laborers after blasting rocks while digging for the establishment of the quarters.
He stated, “The examination by the Anti-Sabotage Squad and Bomb Squad uncovered that there was no indication of sabotage on the HAL premises and that the blast was because of carelessness.”
The police said that the blast occurred at a dump yard after some obscure individuals tried to burn garbage and the fire enacted the gelatin stick lying underneath the garbage and fortunately, no losses were accounted for.
A case has been enlisted at the HAL police headquarters.
