Rajnath arrives on 2-day visit to J-K, meets Governor

Srinagar: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials, arrived here this evening on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to review the security situation in the state.
Singh is accompanied by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, an official spokesman said.
He said the Home Minister was received at the airport here by Governor’s advisors B B Vyas, K Vijay Kumar and Khurshid Ahmad Ganai.
Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, Director General of Police S P Vaid, Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Budgam Sehrish Asgar and senior officers of the paramilitary forces were also present. The Singh-led delegation will review the overall security scenario in the state during their stay here.
Later in the evening, Singh held discussions with Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan on various important issues related to security management, implementation of development programmes and positive engagement of the youth in the state.
“The Governor briefed the Union Home Minister about the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra,” the spokesman said.
