Thane cops nabs Bengaluru killer

Mumbai/Bengaluru: A murder accused who was on run for the last two years after killing his flat mate in KG Halli police headquarters restrains in 2016 was arrested in Mumbai on Thursday evening. A group from Bengaluru East Division, with the assistance of Manikpur police in Thane, caught the killer from Navghar.
The accused, Ramnandan alias Ramdin Sitaram, had murdered his flat mate Arun Das at their KG Halli flat in 2016. The two men were from Patna and worked in a leather shoe manufacturing factory. After the murder, Ramnandan had locked Das’s dead body inside the room, taken his ATM card and money and fled. “We don’t know whether he killed Das for money or for some other reason. When he is subjected to interrogation we will discover the truth,” said an investigating officer.
“Bengaluru police gave us insights about Ramnandan two days prior. We watched his developments for two or three days. Ramnandan had opened a shoe sewing and repair shop in Navghar. He was living there under a false personality. When Bengaluru police came to Manikpur, we helped them get Ramnandan and gave him over to them,” said an officer from Manikpur who was a part of group that helped Bengaluru police.
As per KG Halli police, Ramnandan had run away to Nepal after killing Das. A group had gone to Nepal looking for him, yet they were not able to trace him. After a couple of months, he went to Navghar. The Bengaluru police had the Aadhar card of the accused, from which his photo was circled among the sources of Manikpur police headquarters. “He had likewise acquired a mobile SIM card in his name. When we checked the records with the service providers, we got his number. By following his mobile tower location we learnt that he is in Navghar and had alarmed the neighborhood police to watch his movements.,” an officer included.
