Hebri SI Mahabala Shetty withdraws resignation

Karkala: Hebri police sub-inspector (PSI), Mahabala Shetty had resigned from his post by leaving behind a resignation letter on the Friday afternoon July 6th. After leaving his job he had returned to his native pace, Siddapur in Kundapur taluk.
According to sources, a case relating to land dispute in Kaltur Santhekatte coming within Hebri police station limits, had been registered by certain people at the police station. District superintendent of police had questioned Shetty about this case, on Saturday.
On Saturday, after the PIS resigned from his job, office bearers of different organizations handed over memorandum to the district superintendent of police, urging him to convince sub-inspector, Mahabala Shetty, to report for duties. They also warned that a voluntary Hebri bandh would be organized on Monday if Mahabala Shetty did not report back for duty.
As per the sources, learning about the resignation by a PSI, higher officials deputed deputy superintendent of police here, Belliappa, and circle inspector, Joy Antony, to speak to the sub-inspector about his grievances. The officials visited Shetty at his home and convinced him to rejoin his job and then brought him back to Hebri Police Station.
