Join Indian Army: cycle expedition by a Lieutenant

Mangaluru: 32 days after starting his solo cycle expedition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to promote Indian Armed Forces Flag Day, motivate youth to join Indian Army and to raise funds for the widows and families of army jawans who have willingly sacrificed their lives for the nation, the army officer reached Mangaluru city on July 7th.

On June 6th, Lieutenant Commander Manoj Gupta started his expedition with the aim to reach Kanyakumari by July 16th. The expedition was officially flagged off from Ladakh Scouts Regimental Center in Leh.

Lt. Gupta is an instructor in the Indian Naval Academy and on his expedition has already crossed Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madya Pradesh, Maharastra. “Karnataka is the 9th state I am visiting and I will head towards Kerala and Kanyakumari,” he informed.

“The motto of this cycle expedition is to promote Indian Armed Forces Flag Day and motivate youth to join Indian Navy. I am travelling 100 kilometres per day for this purpose,” he said.

The expedition was organized with help of Indian Naval Academy and Southern Command Indian Navy, he informed.
