Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has started the evacuating the commercials showed on around 4,000 buses in the city.
As the corporation had got many complaints from people in general that the advertisements prevented them from viewing outside and caused issues, it decided to evacuate advertisements shown on the windows.
BMTC Managing Director V Ponnuraj stated, “The memorandum of understanding for the notice was concluded on June 30. Another understanding is set up to introduce commercials on the back of 1,000 buses. Yet, it would take some time.”
By giving a chance to introduce advertisements in 5,000 buses, BMTC would get extra income up to Rs 1 Crore per month. Despite the fact that they expel the commercials in bus windows, there would not be any loss. “The commercial rate has been increased. More buses would convey advertisements on the backside. Along these lines, there won’t be any loss. Rather, the evaluated income would increase by around Rs 1 Crore of income every month”, an authority said.
