BJP raises ‘Love Jihad’ issue in Legislative Council

Bengaluru: The claim that innocent Hindu girls are being allured through the methods for ‘Love Jihad’ in different areas of Karnataka, and that they are trapped and utilized for terrorist activities later, was uproared in the legislative council of the state on Wednesday July 11.
Tejaswini Gowda, BJP members from legislative council, expressed that innocent Hindu girls are being trapped in ‘Love Jihad’ in which they are forced to change their religion. She said that few such girls from coastal Karnataka have been raped and then sold in foreign nations. Tejaswini blamed Popular Front for India, Campus Front of India and Karnataka Forum for Dignity of supporting such activities. She also claimed that terrorist organizations like Indian Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba and ISIS have been providing tacit support to these activities. She demanded the government to provide safety to innocent Hindu girls who are falling prey to such strategies.
U T Khader, Urban development minister, said that no cases of the charged Love Jihad under which ladies are forcibly made to change their religion, raping them or pushing them into prostitution racket have been enrolled in any of the police station in the state. He requested that Tejaswini not talk without appropriate confirmation or verification. He urged her to give details of any case in Karnataka in which such charges have been demonstrated in the courts.
