Bengaluru: The State government, is probably going to take a decision on free bus pass for students, a declaration made in the last budget plan displayed by the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. A decision to give free bus pass to all students across the State will cost the exchequer around ₹1,900 crore yearly.
While Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was cautious in spite of Opposition members looking for answers, he said on Thursday that he had gotten letters from legislators from Dakshina Kannada pointing out that there were more private bus there and students would not benefit by the scheme. Comparative issues were there in some different parts of the State as well, he stated, and included that the Transport Department had agreed to support half of the plan.
