Bengaluru: From Saturday, July 14, the petrol and diesel in Karnataka will be increased by Rs 1.14 and Rs 1.12 respectively. According to the proposition made with respect to this rise in fuel price by the chief minister H D Kumaraswamy in the recent budget, the hike is completed. Government will issue an official notice of the same on Saturday.

It may be reviewed that the sales tax on petroleum and diesel was raised by two percent by H D Kumaraswamy in the budget that was declared on July 5.

The tax on electricity is also increased from 6% to 9% in the budget plan. Nonetheless, as the electricity supply companies have not yet gotten any official confirmation from the government, they have not executed the price rise for now.
