Car-tempo collision kills one, grievously injures 5 at Santhekatte

Udupi: A horrible accident that took place between a car and a tempo near Santhekatte Bridge has claimed one life and grievously injured five persons on Saturday morning, July 14th.

The Hyundai Verna car was en-route from Udupi towards Bhramavar, when the driver of the car in his bid to miss a pot hole, lost control of his car and crashed head-on into an oncoming tempo plying from Udupi to Bhramavar. The impact of the collision killed the tempo driver on the spot and grievously injured three others in tempo.

The deceased tempo driver has been identified as Ashok from Nittor in Udupi. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.

The driver of the car (supposedly a doctor) and another passenger have also sustained grievous injuries. It is said that their condition is very critical.

Udupi police have visited the location of the accident and carried investigation.
