Mangaluru: Due to the increase in sea erosion at Mukkachery and Ucchila in Ullal, a house was washed away at Mukkachery in Ullal on Friday night, July 13th.

The house that was completely destroyed belongs to Aliyabba. Previously, in November 2017, the house was partially damaged due to the tidal waves which were a result of Ockhi cyclone.

On July 14th, the sea erosion intensified as giant waves lashed at Someshwar, Uchila and Mukkacherry in Ullal. Three more houses are also facing the imminent danger of sea erosion.

Senior officials including probationary assistant commissioner Santhosh visited the location and took stock of the situation. Mescom officials have also begun shifting the electricity supply in the region.
