CM HD Kumaraswamy assures to bring back Periyapatna woman sheltered in Shimla

Mysuru: A woman from Periyapatna who has been sheltered in a mental health centre in Shimla may soon return home with the assistance of Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy.
Padma, from Kamalapura of Periyapatna Taluk in Mysuru who has been sheltered at Himachal Hospital of Mental Health and Rehabilitation (HHMHR) in Shimla from the past two years was anticipating assistance from Karnataka government to return to her place in Mysuru and be with her family.
As indicated by authorities of HHMHR, Padma was sent to the health centre in Shimla from a medical college hospital at Tanda in 2016. From then, she is under treatment at the rehabilitation centre. Following a video message in Kannada, which was circulated in social media, her family recognized her and later when it was conveyed to the notice of Deputy Commissioner Abhiram Sankar, he intervened and guaranteed to attempt his level best to get her back to Mysuru.
After treatment, she revealed to her ordeal to doctors who connected with Karnataka government. In spite of the fact that her family thought about her stay in the health center, they were not ready to get her back her because of financial issues.
Krishnamurthy, Vice President of Doddabelalu Gram Panchayat who married Padma’s sister said that Padma got married to a man from Channarayapatna. After few years of marriage her husband left her because of which she fell into depression and she may have left the home and some how reached Shimla.
Krishnamurthy said that Padma’s mother’s ailing health, collapse of their home and breaking down financial situation reduced their attention towards Padma.
