Two fishermen washed away by a giant wave at Malpe

Malpe: Two fishermen were washed away after the fishing boat that they were on was hit by a giant wave at Maple Padukere on Wednesday July 25th. The deceased have been identified as Nithesh (29) and Nishanth (22).

The five men were returning back to shore after fishing when the giant wave hit their vessel and snatched away the two fishermen. The remaining three fishermen are safe, it is said.

The mortal remains of Nithesh has been recovered and has been kept at Ajjarakad mortuary. The corpse of Nishanth has not yet been found and the locals, fire personnel and coast guard have launched a search operation to locate the victim’s mortal remains. Malpe police have registered a case.
