Gauri Lankesh murder: man who burnt killer’s clothes held

Bengaluru: The SIT which is investigating the murder of veteran Gauri Lankesh, has picked speed in its probe and has been making arrests one after the other. On Thursday July 26, the team arrested a real estate agent, who supposedly hosted the accused behind the murder other than that destroying clothes and different things related with the murder. 

The arrested man happens to be H S Suresh (37), a local of Tumakuru. A couple of days back, Suresh had been considered by the SIT as the key witness in the case.

After arresting the accused from Tumakuru, Suresh was presented in the third additional chief metropolitan magistrate’s court on Thursday evening. Suresh told the court that SIT authorities had tortured him. The court then ordered his legal custody. It is assembled that SIT will again look for his police custody for investigation on Friday. 

It is said that Suresh had helped Amol Kale, who is said to the primary conspirator behind the murder, and his group, to reside near Seegenahalli on Magadi Road. After the murder, he burnt clothes and helmets utilized by the shooter and bike rider, sources asserted. 

Suresh from Tumakuru stays at Sunkadakatte with wife and two children. He has been associated with Hindu outfits recently. He interacted with Amol Kale and as a result of this closeness, he consented to help in Gauri murder plan. 

It is said the accused had remained in Seegenahalli and Kumbalagoodu with the help of Sampaje Mohan Nayak. Suresh had even cooked food for the group.
