Pak violates ceasefire along LoC in J-K’s Rajouri

Jammu: Pakistan troops violated ceasefire by firing on Indian posts along Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, drawing retaliation from Army. One Army jawan was reported to have been injured in the ceasefire violation.
Pakistani troops opened fire on forward posts along LoC in Nowshera sector tonight, Defence spokesman said. Indian troops guarding the LoC retaliated resulting in exchanges which is still going on, he said. According to reports, one jawan has suffered injuries and has been hospitalised.
The Centre had yesterday said 55 civilians and security personnel have been killed in alleged ceasefire violations along the LoC and in firing across the international border with Pakistan so far in 2018.
Pakistani security forces allegedly violated the ceasefire or fired across the international border at least 1,432 times till July 23 this year.
Of these, 942 were ceasefire violations along the Line of Control. The remaining were at the border till June. In 2017, the number of deaths in such incidents was 31, while 26 each in 2015 and 2016, the minister said.
