  • Yet to receive FSL report: SP
  • No demand for higher investigation: DC

Udupi: “Autopsy report only reveals the immediate cause for a person’s death and hence it is not considered conclusive. Doctors make the final report only after receiving the forensic science laboratory report (FSL) which is prepared after conducting in-depth tests and analysis and the report is yet to be received,” informed district superintendent of police, Laxman B Nimbargi, speaking after the direct phone-in programme organized at his office on Friday August 3rd.

Mr. Nimbargi explained that the forensic science laboratory report will be sent directly to KMC Hospital Manipal by the laboratory. The doctors will give their final report after comparing both the reports, which will then be handed over to the police department. There will be some delay in receiving the report as the regional forensic science laboratory at Mangaluru has to cater to cases from several districts.

“They give preference to suicide cases where compensation has to be paid immediately. In the case of DNA testing, they give their report immediately, and then send the report to Bengaluru for conducting the test there again,” he added.

The SP informed that the digital video recorders of both the Mutts have been sent to forensic science laboratory at Bengaluru and report is yet to be received. Also the security to both the Shiroor Mutts will be extended.

Not emotional, professional

“Investigation is not based on emotional points. Investigation is done on logic and by being professional. A team of one DySP, 3 inspectors and 3 PSI’s are investigating the case without cease. In the murder case of the Manipal recreational club owner Guruprasad Bhat, the police caught the accused within 6 hours. Not all cases are like this. Evidence is required. We cannot catch someone and call him an accused based on someone else’s saying,” reacted the SP

No demand for higher investigation: DC

No demand has come for higher level investigation into the unnatural death of Siroor Seer, said Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis. She was reacting to the minister U.T. Khader’s statement that high level investigation will be done if there is a demand from the district administration or from others.
