Gruesome accident at Haleangadi; Scooter rider dies

Haleangadi: A scooter rider died in gruesome accident that occurred near Pavanje at Haleangadi at 8:30 am on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ravindra Nayak (45), a resident of Kolnadu.

Ravindra was driving his scooter when a speeding Scorpio SUV hit his scooter. The impact of the collision threw the Ravindra under wheels of a truck that was plying close by. The Scorpio driver is absconding and the police are on the lookout for him.

The deceased was employed as a security guard at NITK institution and the accident occurred when he was on his way to his work. The deceased is survived by his wife and a daughter. The case has been registered by Mangaluru North police station.
