Madikeri: Kodagu, DC Sreevidya had earlier enforced a complete ban on river rafting, run without permit letters from the district administration, in the regions of Dubare, Thoogusethuve(Hanging Bridge), Basavanahalli, Rangasamudra and Rasalpura.

The initial ban was till April 28 and was later extended.

“One among the 30 owners has put a stay order from the court over lifting of the ban, Deputy Commissioner SreeVidya has requested all the owners to wait till the court’s verdict is out. We expect the verdict will be given next week and river rafting will resume once the verdict is out,” said CL Vishwa, owner of a river rafting outfit. ‘We hope that within a week, the ban on rafting will be officially lifted,” he added.
