BJP supporters attack Congress activist

Udupi: BJP supporters thrashed a Congress activist who had installed CCTV camera at his house here in Badanidiyur on Sunday, August 5th. The victim has been identified as Sunil D’souza (32).
During the Assembly elections three months ago, Mr. D’Souza had installed CCTV camera at his house. Few youth members of an association were creating nuisance in the vicinity having drinks late in the night and Sunil had objected the same. The association members had also pressurized the victim to remove the camera to which he did not oblige.
Incident
On Sunday night, two men, supposedly the members of the BJP were sent by nearby gram panchayat president and BJP leader Umesh Poojary to Sunil’s house. Once they reached the victim’s house, they attacked him with an iron rod.
Injured Sunil was shifted to Ajjarkad hospital and has alleged that his gold chain worth Rs 75,000 is missing since the attack.
Maple police have registered a case on the attack and the footage of the incident has also been captured by the CCTV camera.
