Rs. 37.84 crore for Gurpur Bridge

Mangaluru: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs. 37.84 crore for the construction of a new bridge across the Phalguni River along national highway 169.
The project has been sanctioned after MP Nalin Kumar Kateel sent a request to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The ministry scrutinized the state government’s proposal costing approx. Rs. 38.07 crore and finally agreed to sanction Rs. 37.84 crores.
The released statement reads that 30% of the work will be done by 2018-19 at the cost of Rs. 11.53 crore and the remaining work will be finished in 2019-20.
