Fishermen rescued after two boats sink

- 16 fishermen rescued
Udupi: 16 fishermen were rescued after two fishing boats sank in separate incidents between Bhatkal-Gangolli deep sea following heavy rains on Saturday and Sunday.
8 fishermen were returning after venturing into deep sea in the boat named Shivaganesh when their vessel capsized on Saturday, August 11th.
Another boat named Padmadas was returning back to Malpe with 8 fishermen onboard when their vessel began to sink on Sunday morning, August 12th.
All the 16 fishermen in two boats were rescued by other boats and safely brought to the shore. Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds is said to be the cause for the mishap.
