Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy promise to curtail the unnecessary administration related expenditure seems to have fallen on deaf ears, since the excise department officials, not minding the CM’s words have continued their purchase of luxury cars.
A proposal to buy eight cars for their eight joint commissioners at cost of Rs 10.64 lac per car has been sent to the state finance department by the excise department and the finance department has approved this proposal.
The finance department has given its approval to buy Mahindra XUV W4 FWD type of vehicles at a total cost of Rs. 85.13 lakh. It is understood that the finance department has asked the excise department to spend Rs 6.50 lakh for every car and manage the difference amount by adhering to the old vehicle changing guidelines policy.
