Rs 50 crore relief fund sanctioned for DK district

- Rs 200 crores to be released to DC’s for handling calamities
Mangaluru/Bengaluru: The state government will be soon releasing a relief fund of Rs.50 crore to the district for calamity relief. Chief Minister (CM) Kumaraswamy held meetings with ministers in Bengaluru to discuss the grave situation across coastal Karnataka due to rains on Thursday, August 16th.
The meeting was attended by Revenue minister R V Deshpande, Dakshina Kannada district in charge U T Khader and Kodagu district in-charge minister S R Mahesh. Minister Khader explained to the chief minister the natural calamities suffered by Dakshina Kannada district.
The CM asked Rs 200 crores to be released to the deputy commissioners for handling such calamities in various districts in the state. Rs 50 crore out of them will be released for Dakshina Kannada district.
Speaking to media Mr. Khader informed that the state government is willing to provide more funds.
