Mangalore University Ex-Professor dies in road mishap

Mangaluru/Bengaluru: Former Mangalore University professor Jayagopal Uchil (75), who was grievously injured in a road accident at Hosur Road, passed away here on Friday, August 17th. The injured professor was shifted to Greenfield’s Hospital, HSR Layout, where he breathed his last on Friday.

Prof. Jayagopal was former dean of faculty of science of technology of Mangalore University. also member of senate, syndicate and academic council of the university. He was also the founder chairman of department of material science of the university.

He is survived by his wife Jayasheela and two daughters.
