CM Kumaraswamy assures new homes to flood victims in Coorg

Mysuru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has assured to build homes for flood victims of Kodagu and announced an ex-gratia of Rs five lakhs for the next of kin of those killed in torrential rain and Rs two lakhs each to families which lost their homes.
Responding to pleas of victims, who poured out their woes soon after he completed an aerial survey and assessed the situation in flood-hit areas on Saturday, the CM said “Those who are stranded will be airlifted. Since it is a natural disaster, the government will extend all support. We are with you. You need not be anxious. I will visit Madikeri again in two or three days and will stay for a day and respond to your grievances.”
CM Kumaraswamy said “We will carve a new layout and distribute houses for those who have lost their homes. Houses will be built as per your wish. It is my responsibility to bring light into your lives.” Later, he also visited relief centres at Mythri hall and police community hall in Madikeri and consoled the victims.
