Man absconding for 18 years nabbed in Delhi

Mangaluru/Delhi: An accused wanted in several cases and absconding since the last 18 years has been arrested by Bajpe police on September 1st. The arrested accused has been identified as Fayaz, resident of Suralpady.

Fayaz is wanted for criminal cases under section 143, 147, 148, 504, 436, 427 and IPC 149 registered at Bajpe police station. Since he was absconding since the last 18 years, the Court had released an LPC (Long Pending Case) warrant for his arrest. While police were on his lookout, they received information that he was trying to flee the country through Delhi airport.

Consequently, Bajpe police station inspector requested for and obtained an LOC (Look Out Circular) from city police commissioner. On the basis of this document, Delhi immigration officials detained Fayaz while he was trying to flee the country on August 31st.

Bajpe police personnel reached there later, arrested the accused and escorted him to Mangaluru on September 1st. He was produced in 2nd JMFC court which has ordered for his judicial custody.

Police sub inspector Shankar Nayari, ASI Ramachandra, head constables Rama Naika, Rajesh and constable Hari Prasad took part in the operation.
