  • Pedestrians subjected to difficulty, broken cement slabs, Inaction from MCC

Mangaluru : Footpaths on most parts of the city are unfit for pedestrian use. In that too, the pavement stones placed in areas with high people density have all been ripped off. As a sign of danger the drains remain open and if someone fails to see the open drains, an accident is inevitable.

The cement slabs put across the drains on the footpaths on the prominent roads in the city have broken, leaving the drains open. Mangaluru city is becoming a Smart City. But if the terrible condition of the footpath is considered it seems to be quite serious.

Though a year has passed since the concrete roads were created, there is no sign of any footpaths here. The corporation has failed to provide proper response to the complaints regarding the footpaths coming to it from the public on a daily basis, accuse the citizens.

In this backdrop, ‘Udayavani’ has captured images on the state of the footpaths along the various prominent roads in the city including M.G. Road, K. S. Rao Road, Kuloor Ferry Road (From Ladyhill to Mannagudda Road) and  P.V.S. circle to Bunts hostel.
