Mangalore University comes to the aid of Kodagu victim students

Ullal: The Mangalore University has decided to come to the aid of the students from Kodagu who are victims to the natural calamity that occurred there.

Many students have lost their homes and education certificates. The University has decided to give free certificates to these students. It will give attendance to those students unable to attend classes. Free housing facility will be provided to students who have lost their homes. In the coming days, even more assistance will be provided in different ways. A meeting for the University principals will be conducted in this regard soon, informed Managluru University Vice Chancellor Dr. C K Kishore Kumar.

The University is in continuous contact with the principal of its college in Kodagu and gathering information on the victim students. The various colleges coming under the University’s limits will collect money and donate it to the Kodagu victim students.

Special examination will be conducted for colleges which are unable to finish teaching the curriculum within the prescribed time. Examination fees and other fees will be exempted.

NSS camp has been conducted at Kodagu along with counseling programme. Students who have lost their homes will be given entry to any college with housing facility in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district to continue their education. MSW will conduct field work and  submit a report to the government on how to improve the lives of the victims of the natural disaster in Kodagu, informed Dr. Kishore Kumar.
